Structure and characteristics of rolling bearing

Rolling bearing is a kind of precise mechanical element that changes the sliding friction between the running shaft and the shaft seat into rolling friction, thus reducing the friction loss.
Rolling bearings include raceways (inner and outer rings), rolling bodies (balls or rollers) and cages. Through the cages, the rolling bodies are kept at a certain distance and fixed in the correct position for movement. The contact surface with the rolling body is called "raceway surface", which bears all the loads of the bearing. Usually the inner ring is fixed on the shaft, while the outer ring is fixed on the bearing housing. The rolling body is divided into ball and roller according to its shape, and the roller is divided into four types: cylindrical roller, needle roller, conical roller and drum spherical roller.
Geometrically speaking, the contact between the rolling body and the raceway of the inner and outer rings is a point (ball) or a line (roller). In theory, the rolling body carries out rolling motion on the rolling surface of the inner and outer rings and rotates separately. The rolling element and the ring support the load borne by the bearing with the contact surface of its raceway surface, and the cage does not directly bear the load. It is only used to maintain the correct position and spacing of the rolling body and prevent the rolling body from falling off when installing the bearing. The types of cages are classified according to the mode of production, including press-in, vehicle-style and form-formed cages. The main features of rolling bearing are:
(1) Specialization
In the processing of rolling bearing parts, a large number of special bearing equipment are used. For example, ball mill, grinder and other equipment are used for steel ball processing. The characteristics of specialization are also reflected in the production of rolling bearing parts, such as steel ball companies specializing in the production of steel balls, micro bearing factories specializing in the production of micro bearings, etc.
(2) Progressiveness
Due to the large-scale requirements of rolling bearing production, it is possible to use advanced machine tools, tooling and technology. Such as CNC machine tool, three-jaw floating chuck and heat treatment in protective atmosphere.
(3) Automation
The specialization of rolling bearing production provides conditions for its production automation. Full-automatic, semi-automatic special and non-special machine tools are widely used in production, and automatic production lines are gradually popularized and applied. Such as heat treatment automatic line and assembly automatic line.
